Christmas train tickets on sale at East Troy Railroad 🎄🚞
EAST TROY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- As the holiday season approaches, the East Troy Railroad Museum has announced that tickets for the 2024 Christmas Trains to Santa’s Workshop at the Elegant Farmer are now available. Families looking to take a train ride to a fun interpretation of the North Pole to visit the "real famous cat all dressed up in red" saw tickets go on sale at noon on Monday, Oct. 14.
Museum President Ward Komorowski noted in a press release that tickets tend to sell quickly.
The Christmas Trains will run Saturdays and Sundays from Saturday, Nov. 30 through Saturday, Dec. 21. Trains depart from the East Troy Depot at 2002 Church Street to Santa’s Workshop and back. Departure times are 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m., noon, 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m., except there is no 3 p.m. train on Saturday, Dec. 7.
Each round trip lasts around two hours and includes a visit with Santa for photo opportunities.
"Santa’s Workshop will have fun activities for everyone, and children will receive a small gift that is fitting for the occasion," Komorowski said. The historic railroad cars are heated, and restrooms and free parking are available at the East Troy depot.
Ticket prices are $28 for adults on Sunday trains and $30 on Saturday trains; children ages 3 to 14 are $24 on Sundays and $26 on Saturdays; infants and toddlers are $11 on Sundays and $12 on Saturdays.
Advance reservations are required, and everyone needs a ticket to board.
Additional Santa’s Special Evening Trains will depart at 5 p.m. on Fridays, including Nov. 29, Dec. 6, Dec. 13 and Dec. 20, as well as on Saturdays that include Nov. 30, Dec. 14 and Dec. 21. The evening trains take place on First Class Dining Cars, with cookies, hot chocolate, adult hot chocolate that features a shot of Baileys or Peppermint Schnapps or even a beer.
