City of Milwaukee could pay $250K settlement to family of woman killed by police squad

CBS 58 MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee could be paying $250,000 to the family of a woman killed by a police squad car.
A measure passed through a city committee to pay a settlement to the family of Hayley Linville.
The 31-year-old was lying in an alleyway near 20th and Orchard when a police officer hit her.
In a letter to the council, the city attorney said the family was demanding more than $21 million but proposed a $250,000 settlement.
The settlement still needs to be approved by the full Common Council.
