Community encouraged to 'pay it forward' for fallen Racine Officer Hetland's 50th birthday

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- In just a couple of weeks, Racine Police Officer John Hetland would have been celebrating his 50th birthday.

Hetland was fatally shot while trying to stop a robbery at Teezers Bar on June 17.

As a tribute to his life, a Blue Line Tree has been set up at Hiawatha Bar and Grill with "Pay it Forward" cards. 

At least 50 people are needed to commit to using a card in honor of John's birthday on the 22nd.
