Contributing to the Share-A-Pair Shoe Drive can give gently used shoes a new purpose
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Have a pair, or more, of unused shoes that are just taking up space? Revitalize them by donating to those in need, rather than letting them continue to gather dust.
Milwaukee-area shoe store, Stan's Fit For Your Feet, is hosting its annual Share-A-Pair Shoe Drive throughout the month of February.
Megan Sajdak, Marketing Director for Stan's Fit For Your Feet joined us on Monday, Jan. 30 to discuss details.
The store accepts new or gently used shoes for men, women as well as children. Sandals, athletic shoes, dress shoes, boots and slippers are all welcome. Socks for men, women and children are also welcome.
Sajdak said that there is a greater demand for larger men's sizes, and even if families do not have those sizes to offer, they do sell those at Stan's that can be immediately donated.
Most of the donations remain in the Milwaukee community, benefiting several non-profits in the area that are in need of shoes, including Repairers of the Breach, Father Gene’s Help Center, Milwaukee Rescue Mission and Hope House Milwaukee.
Donations are being accepted at all three locations of Stan's Fit For Your Feet, as well as Waxberg's Walk Shoppe, Vionic Milwaukee and both Goodmiles Running Company locations.
While donations are accepted all year, the Share-A-Pair Shoe is a February tradition during which the shoe will offer an added bonus for each donation.
