MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- On this week's Milwaukee Crime Stoppers, we need you to take a good look at surveillance video.

Police say the car you're about to see ran over a man and kept going.

Take a good look at the white vehicle. Do you recognize it? Because Milwaukee detectives say whoever was driving killed 55-year-old Ophie Mitchell.

Mitchell was crossing the street at Teutonia and Capitol on Sept. 30 around 8 p.m. That's when this Chevy four-door with tinted windows ran through the red light and hit him.

If you see it, the front passenger side headlight is out and there's front-end damage.

Mitchell died at the hospital. His brother describes him as a good man and says reckless driving is out of control.

"He was pretty tough, but he was a good guy, everybody loved him," said Robert Jackson, Ophie's brother. "What makes it so bad is that they hit him and kept going. This has to stop, people are more than just pawns, we are human beings. Got to have more love for one another. It's just hard for me right now because we've been together all of our lives and he was my only brother."

"Reckless driving happens on a daily basis in Milwaukee," said Detective Michael Slomczewski. "From the surveillance video we recovered, there were multiple vehicles that blew that red light on Teutonia Avenue at Capitol Drive. It just so happens that this particular vehicle we are looking for is the one that struck the victim."

If you know anything about this hit-and-run or recognize the car in the video, please call 414-224-8477. You can also use the p3 Tips app.
