Crime Stoppers: Next anonymous tip that solves homicide case will get $25,000 reward
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Crime Stoppers is making a promise to the community with a new initiative. The next person who comes forward and gives an anonymous tip that solves a homicide case with an arrest will get a $25,000 reward.
So far in 2022, at least 150 homicides have happened in Milwaukee. That's a huge difference from the 56 that happened during the same time in 2019. Many of the cases are unsolved and your anonymous tips can help give families closure.
Typically, the general amount for a reward that solves a homicide through Milwaukee Crime Stoppers is $1,000, but there are several cases where Crime Stoppers is offering more than that because family and friends have donated money to encourage people to come forward.
There's a $15,000 reward to solve Bernell Trammel's case, who was killed in 2020.
For Roneil Sylvester killed in August 2020, there's a $20,000 reward.
For both Jenny Her and Krystal Tucker, friends who were killed months apart, there's separate $10,000 rewards.
Brazil Johnson was a Black transgender woman killed this year, and there's a $28,000 reward to solve her case.
Quanita Tay Jackson, a woman trying to stop crime, was killed by stray bullets. The reward to find leads in that case is $100,000.
If you come forward in any of these cases right now, you get the existing reward money plus an extra $25,000. And in any other homicide case you know of that's unsolved, call 414-224-TIPS (8477) and you get a $25,000 reward. You can call or use the P3 Tips App.
The money is being awarded from Milwaukee Crime Stoppers through attorney and Crime Stoppers President Michael Hupy of Hupy and Abraham.
Remember, your tip is always anonymous and you pick up your money in a secret location.
