Crime Stoppers: 2 men fatally shot outside Milwaukee bar near Vance and Fond Du Lac Ave
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Two men were shot and killed outside of a bar in Milwaukee this summer.
Police believe one of them was the target and the other was an innocent bystander.
Milwaukee police say these two men were leaving a bar near Vance and Fond Du Lac Avenue on July 22 at around 1:00 a.m.
That's when someone driving this newer model gray Dodge Durango came down the street and started shooting. Both men were killed and detectives believe while Christopher Bugembe was the target, there were a lot of people out that night.
Many witnesses have already come forward. Detectives say they are very close to solving this case.
They know who the shooter is but in order to file charges, they need to connect the suspect vehicle to one of the victims, Christopher Bugembe. to solve both of these murders.
"There were no problems leading up to this incident," said MPD Detective Alex Klabunde. "Watching the video, Christopher Bugembe was shot first and the video of that incident suggests he was targeted. The best description of Valentino Stokes would be an innocent victim. There doesn’t seem to be a connection between Valentine being shot and Christopher being shot other than Christopher was present in the same area. They weren't standing side by side or anything like that it was a very random occurrence that Valentine was even struck by a bullet in this incident. It's extremely unfortunate."
