MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A jury found a Cudahy couple accused of abusing their 15-year-old daughter guilty of about half of their charges including causing mental harm to a child and false imprisonment.

Felicia Boon and Kevin Boon-Bey were charged with six felonies.

  • Physical Abuse of a Child, Repeated Acts Causing Bodily Harm, as a Party to a Crime (PTAC)
  • Causing Mental Harm to Child, PTAC
  • Chronic Neglect of a Child (Consequence is Bodily Harm), PTAC
  • Chronic Neglect of a Child (Consequence is Emotional Damage), PTAC
  • Chronic Neglect of a Child (Consequence is Bodily Harm), PTAC
  • False Imprisonment, PTAC

On Wednesday, a jury found Felicia guilty of four of the six charges: child abuse, causing mental harm to child, child neglect (consequence is emotional damage), and false imprisonment.

"There were two neglect charges that she was found not guilty on but she was convicted on the main charges of this case and that's what matters," said Matthew Torbenson, Deputy District Attorney.

They also found Kevin guilty of three of the charges: causing mental harm to a child, child neglect (consequence is emotional damage), and false imprisonment.

In court, Felicia's attorney and Kevin requested to have continued bond but it was denied.

"The charges were extraordinary serious they enjoyed the presumption of innocence they don't enjoy that presumption any longer," said Torbenson.

Both were taken away in handcuffs and will be held in custody until their sentencing on September 27.

Prosecutors thanked the jurors and say their thoughts are with the victim.

"It means her voice was heard, it means they took the time to listen to the evidence," said Torbenson.
