MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – A Cudahy couple accused in a horrific child abuse case in Milwaukee learned their sentence on Friday afternoon.

The father, Kevin Boon, was sentenced to six years in prison and her stepmom, Felicia Boon, was sentenced to seven years behind bars. Both received five years of extended supervision.

Felicia Boon was convicted of:

  • Physical Abuse of a Child, Repeated Acts Causing Bodily Harm, as a Party to a Crime (PTAC)
  • Causing Mental Harm to Child, PTAC
  • Chronic Neglect of a Child (Consequence is Emotional Damage), PTAC
  • False Imprisonment, PTAC

Kevin Boon-Bey was convicted of:

  • Causing Mental Harm to Child, PTAC
  • Chronic Neglect of a Child (Consequence is Emotional Damage), PTAC
  • False Imprisonment, PTAC

In December, the 15-year-old victim managed to escape from her room and call her aunt for help. In July, Kevin and Felicia Boon were found guilty of child neglect, causing mental harm to a child and false imprisonment. Felicia was also convicted of child abuse.

The victim told investigators she was confined to her room and deprived of food and water.

Court documents state the adults put three other children in the home in charge of the victim. The children poured hot and cold water on her, beat her with a metal pole and zip-tied her to the bedposts. Three children were charged for criminal conduct against the victim.

CBS 58 was the only camera in the courtroom on Friday as the victim addressed her abusers. She told her stepmom and dad she doesn’t have to listen to them anymore.

“Everything they’ve tried to portray about me is really their true character,” she said. “All this time I have been thinking I was the problem, but in reality, I am the victim. No matter what they say, I am the victim. I want these words to sink into them as every ounce of hot water and every pole that pierced my skin have sunken into me.”

The court ordered that the two have no contact with the victim unless she chooses to communicate with them.

"I don't have to listen to you anymore," the victim said.
