Dane County Sheriff: Man killed in shooting in Blooming Grove
BLOOMING GROVE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Dane County Sheriff's Office announced that a man is dead and a suspect has been arrested following a shooting in the Town of Blooming Grove on Sunday, Nov. 28.
Authorities say that at approximately 9:20 a.m. Sunday, Dane County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a shooting near Milwaukee and Walbridge in Blooming Grove.
Reports indicate that upon arrival at the scene, deputies pronounced a male victim dead.
The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office is reportedly working to identify him and notify his family.
Officials say that Maple Bluff police later located a Chevrolet SUV believed to be involved in the incident and attempted to stop the vehicle.
The driver then reportedly fled from authorities and a pursuit was initiated.
The Dane County Sheriff's Office later apprehended the driver of the SUV after deputies and the WI State Patrol successfully deployed road spikes.
Authorities report that the suspect was taken into custody around 11:00 a.m. near the intersection of East Washington Avenue and East Springs Drive in the City of Madison.
The Dane County Sheriff’s Office is reportedly investigating the incident and is not considering the shooting a random incident.
