Silver celebrations for the Milwaukee Art Museum's Calatrava

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58)--25 years and counting for a major iconic landmark on Milwaukee's lakefront. The Calatrava is a quarter of a century. It's also known as the Quadracci Pavilion, named after the world-renowned Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. The landmark, with its fascinating wing spans, has become a symbol of civic pride, ambition, and creativity. And to go with the milestone, a year-long exhibition called "Built to Inspire: The Quadracci Pavilion at 25." It focuses on the evolution of this very special addition to the Milwaukee Art Museum.

Also, while you're visiting, why not check out one of the newest exhibits called "Shakers: A World in The Making." The Shakers stemmed from the late 18th century. They organized their communities around shared labor, quality, and communal living. They were formally known as the United Society of Believers in Christ's Second Coming. As part of the exhibition, you can see 90 historic art objects, including furniture and tools. There are also seven contemporary installations as well. This exhibition runs through the end of January.
