Good travel weather in Wisconsin before the cold settles in
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A homicide investigation is underway after a woman was found dead in a fire near 83rd and Vienna.
The fire started around 4 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 25.
According to Milwaukee police, the 36-year-old woman was shot and killed. She was identified as Nikia Rogers.
A neighbor told CBS 58 that crime is getting worse in this area.
"I've lived here nine years and I would say the last four or five, it's gotten pretty shaky," said Al Kitzman.
People on scene also said they believe this was a domestic incident but police have not confirmed that.
An autopsy has been scheduled by the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office to take place on Friday. Officials will make an official identification of the victim following the autopsy.
