'Deer District Prep Showcase' to feature top high school basketball teams at Fiserv Forum
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Deer District Prep Showcase is set to bring high school basketball action to downtown Milwaukee on Saturday, Feb. 8. Hosted at Fiserv Forum in partnership with the Wisconsin Sports Network, this all-day event will spotlight 10 of the state’s top boys' basketball teams in five matchups.
The games will tip off every two hours starting at 10 a.m. and culminate with the final contest at 6 p.m.
This inaugural showcase provides a unique opportunity for basketball fans to experience elite high school talent in the heart of Milwaukee's entertainment district. The event is expected to draw a large crowd from across the state, offering a mix of highly competitive games and an electric atmosphere within the state-of-the-art Fiserv Forum.
Nicolet Boys' Basketball Head Coach Terence Smith says, playing on the same court that Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard make famous is a great opportunity.
"You know they all look up to them guys, and to actually be able to play on that floor? It's awesome for them," he said.
