DELAFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A resident was rescued by fire personnel during an apartment fire in Delafield late Thursday, Sept. 12, according to Delafield Police Chief Landon Nyren.
The fire, reported at close to 11 p.m., engulfed a lower unit of an eight-unit apartment building on Vista Park Ct. The report initially came in for visible smoke along with what Nyren describes as an electrical smell.
Responding officers and fire personnel from over a dozen surrounding fire, police and rescue departments helped to evacuate the building, and no fatalities or life-threatening injuries were reported.
All residents of the building have been displaced and, where needed, are receiving assistance from the American Red Cross and Salvation Army.
Officials say the cause of the fire is under investigation.
