Despite nationwide struggle, Milwaukee's Mitchell International Airport continues to operate smoothly

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- As the partial government shutdown drags on, airports continue to struggle nationwide.

TSA workers, who are set to lose another paycheck Friday, March 27, are continuing to call out sick - leading to massive staffing shortages.

But back at home at the Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport, things seem to be operating smoothly.

"So far what we're seeing is TSA staff are showing up, which is a great thing.  It's great to see the amount of professionalism that they're showing in this difficult time for them," said Brian Dranzik, director at Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport.

Back at Capitol Hill, a bill that could potentially end the partial shutdown is now in the hands of the U.S. Senate.
