MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Wisconsin native became a huge hit at the Republican National Convention (RNC) after he made the big screen inside Fiserv Forum Monday night, July 15.
He’s friendly, he’s focused, and he’s on all fours.
Lambeau, a purebred English lab, has quickly become a popular pup amongst the delegates. With an American flag draped around his collar, he’s proved to be a patriotic pup.
His owner of seven years is Terrence Wall, a Wisconsin delegate from Middleton.
“He’s the unofficial mascot of the Republican Party of Dane County,” said Wall. “He comes to all our committee meetings.”
Wall says Lambeau is one of two service dogs that can make their way to the convention floor.
“Everybody is loving him,” Wall said. “He’s had at least 250 photos taken of him.”
Wall says he’s more reserved than Lambeau, and his service animal has helped sparked conversation at the convention.
“He’s been a big hit of the show,” Wall said. “I’m just his agent. I go where he goes.”
Wall says he hopes bringing his own service dog could maybe encourage others to bring their service animals to large-scale events to aid them.
“He’s super cooperative,” Wall said. “Unless he wants food, then that’s what’s on his mind”
Wall added that you just have to make sure your animal is well-behaved, just like the humans.
