Doggy Day to benefit local dogs in the Deer District

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Doggy Day will return to Deer District on Saturday, April 12 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., featuring vendors, food trucks and entertainment while supporting dogs in need of help in the area.
The event, sponsored by Tito’s Handmade Vodka and Yutka Fence, will include 80 local vendors, a dog treat trailer and music from DJ Gee-A. Local radio personalities Alley and DZ will emcee Doggy Day, which is free and open to the public.
Organizers ask that owners bring only well-socialized, leashed dogs and avoid retractable leashes and aversive collars.
Proceeds will benefit Winston’s Wishes, a nonprofit organization focused on assisting dogs struggling in shelter environments, senior dogs and those requiring extra care. This year’s event will honor Winston, the dog that inspired the organization, who recently died.
Winston’s Wishes partners with the Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission to help local dogs find care and permanent homes.
