Kopp’s Custard honors Bob Uecker with special flavor celebrating Brewers home opener

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Kopp’s Frozen Custard is offering a tribute to late broadcaster Bob Uecker with a special custard flavor to celebrate the Milwaukee Brewers home opener on Monday, March 31.
The Milwaukee-based chain is "Mr. Baseball" as a featured flavor of the day. The flavor features caramel malt custard, beer nuts, fudge-covered peanuts and a splash of Miller Lite.
Uecker, who died on Jan. 16, frequently spoke about his fondness for custard and the Midwest. In a 2017 interview with CBS Sunday Morning, he said with a smirk, "You don’t get custard on the coasts like you can in the Midwest. You can’t because the cows in California are too hot… cows in the Midwest in the winter shake and shiver. That’s what gives the custard the air."
