Fleeing driver crashes near 26th and Burleigh, MPD squad involved in separate 'minor' collision
CBS 58 MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police say one of their squads was involved in a collision Tuesday, while pursuing a vehicle wanted in connection to a shooting.
Officers attempted to stop the car just before 4 p.m. Tuesday, near 26th and Center. When the driver refused to stop, according to police, a pursuit began, ending when the driver lost control and crashed into two other unoccupied cars near 26th and Burleigh.
The police department says during the pursuit, one of their squads was involved in a "minor collision" with an unrelated occupied car. No injuries were reported by officers or the other driver.
Officials say after the fleeing driver crashed, two suspects got out of the vehicle and ran. They say the driver of the suspect vehicle, a 23-year-old man, and the passenger of the suspect vehicle, a 20-year-old man, were both arrested and taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-fatal injuries.
Criminal charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.
