Driver killed in head-on collision in Fond du Lac County

Township of Waupun, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office says one person is dead following an early morning crash on Sun. March 1.
Officials say at around 1:46 a.m. a southbound passenger vehicle crossed over a centerline on Highway 26 and struck a northbound straight truck.
It happened near Neitman Road in the Township of Waupun in Fond du Lac County.
It was reported the sole occupant of the southbound vehicle was unable to maintain its lane prior to the crash. That driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The operator of the northbound vehicle was taken to the hospital for minor injuries, where they were treated and released.
Alcohol is believed to be factor in the crash.
Highway 26 was closed for approximately 4 hours between CTH-TC and Highway 151 for emergency response and an investigation by the Fond du Lac Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Team.
Assisting agencies included the City of Waupun Police Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, Waupun County Fire Department, Lifestar Emergency Medical Service, and the Fond du Lac County Highway Department.
At this time, officials are not releasing the names of the individuals involved.
