Drought worsens in northern Wisconsin with a few more isolated showers possible locally

September has been a wet month so far. Recently we went through a stretch of six days in a row with at least a trace of rain reports in Milwaukee. The rainiest day was last Saturday when we had record rainfall of nearly 1.50". The month of September has only seen nine dry days so far. 

The latest drought update is out and we saw more improvement in the southern part of the state which has steadily gotten better over the last two months. We no longer have any dry conditions showing up in the southern part of the state. But, northern Wisconsin remains dry. A few counties up north are now in "exceptional" drought which is the worst category. They desperately need some rain up there. 

Wednesday was one of those rare completely dry days in Wisconsin. Thursday looks to be dry as well but after midnight we could start to see some isolated showers or sprinkles return to the area. None of the rain looks heavy, and even those that see it won't see much more than the pavement briefly getting wet. 

Any rain that we do see Thursday night into Friday should be gone for any Friday evening plans and we stay dry for the start of the weekend.
