MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Officials have identified the deceased in a Sunday, Aug. 11 hit-and-run as 32-year-old Marcus Robinson of Milwaukee.

The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office noted that Robinson was struck as he crossed the street near the intersection of Market and Water. He was reportedly walking with two others when a car approached at high speed.

While the others managed to avoid the vehicle, Robinson was struck, and the driver is said to have fled the scene.

“Whoever did it can be forgiven," said Ladonna Quarles, Robinson's aunt. “He meant a lot to us, and I just hope whoever did it will come forward soon.”

Quarles and Menshae Bonman, a cousin of Robinson, are remembering him as a loving father of three girls who live in Milwaukee. 

“It broke me into pieces," Bonman said, referring to the moment when she heard Robinson had died. “He was full of love, laughter, and a lot of life, very goofy.”

Robinson was pronounced dead at around 3 a.m. by paramedics from the Milwaukee Fire Department. The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office reported that Robinson suffered significant trauma.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police are investigating an early morning hit and run that took place Sunday, Aug. 11 around 2:49 a.m. near Knapp and Water Street. 

A 32-year-old, who was on foot in the street, was struck by an unknown vehicle traveling northbound, which caused the fatal injuries. 

The striking vehicle involved fled the scene.
