Equifax adds extra step to claim settlement money after data breach

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Did you claim $125 from Equifax? There's one more thing you have to do to get your money. 

As part of a data breach settlement, Equifax offered ten years of free credit monitoring or $125 to those affected. 

Now the agency says if you want the money you have to prove you had credit monitoring when you made the claim. 

The verification has to be done by October 15 or your claim will be denied.
