Family 'heartbroken' over shooting death of 15-year-old boy; 13-year-old arrested in connection
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police report a 13-year-old was arrested in connection to the shooting deaths of two 15-year-old boys. Police are still looking for two other suspects.
Family identified to CBS 58 News, 15-year-old Monroe Weso as one of the victims in the shooting. They say Weso was a loving kid and full of light.
"Almost unbelievable, and it's kind of still, it's real now. At that moment, it was hard to take in," said Marlon Skenandore, brother of teen shot.
For 39-year-old Marlon Skenandore, it's a reality he never wanted to face -- his younger brother shot and killed.
"He had a long life to live, had a whole life to grow up with him," said Skenandor. "He's so young I almost looked at him like a son, but he was my little brother."
Skenandore says the murder of Weso has been emotional for their family.
"Everybody's heartbroken, everybody's devastated," said Skenandor.
Weso was killed alongside his best friend, Alejandro Sanchez. The double murder happened near 14th and Hasley after 10:30 p.m. Saturday night.
Now, two families are looking to bury loved ones too soon.
"From the bottom of my heart, I hope they find the people, the individuals that were a part of this, take accountability for their actions because they have devastated two families in a major way," Skenandor said.
Family tells CBS 58 news, Weso was a student at West Allis Central and his home is on the Menominee Reservation, and that's where he will be buried Thursday, May 23.
GoFundMe pages have been set up to help the families with funeral costs.
