MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A new lawsuit involving the death of 19-year-old Sade Robinson has been filed against two Milwaukee bars.

The litigation was filed Monday, April 1 -- exactly one year after the teen was murdered -- on behalf of Robinson's family, who are seeking damages for wrongful death, negligence, and emotional distress.

Authorities charged 35-year-old Maxwell Anderson with first-degree intentional homicide, mutilating a corpse, and arson.

His trial is set to start next month.

But now, Robinson's family is focusing on two bars -- the Twisted Fisherman and Duke's on Water -- where Robinson went with Anderson before she was killed.

This lawsuit alleges that workers did not card the teen even though she wasn't legal and that they continued to serve her as she became visibly intoxicated, with "slurred speech, loss of balance, and reduced awareness."

That negligence, the lawsuit said, led to Robinson becoming "physically and mentally vulnerable," which ultimately led to her death.

CBS 58 reached out to both bars for comment but did not hear back.
