FOND DU LAC, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Fond du Lac police are investigating a situation in which a 20-year-old man allegedly stabbed his 46-year-old father multiple times during a fight early Monday, Oct. 5, according to the Fond du Lac Police Department.

Officers responded to a home on E. 1st Street at around 2:03 a.m.

The initial report indicated that the son had been attacked with a hammer before the stabbing, police reported.

The father was flown by a medical helicopter to a regional medical center, where he underwent surgery and is listed in stable condition. The son was treated for minor injuries at a local hospital, where he was admitted for additional care and is also listed in stable condition.

Detectives say they are investigating what circumstances led to the fight.
