FBI arrests California man accused of threatening to kill Kiel Area School District staff member

KIEL, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The City of Kiel Police Department announced Tuesday evening that the FBI field office in San Diego, California arrested a 34-year-old man in connection to threats made to kill a staff member of the Kiel Area School District.

Police say the arrest was not related to the bomb threats that the school district and city have received.

The suspect will be referred on criminal charges related to his threat against a staff member in Wisconsin. Police say he is also facing separate federal charges.

The FBI and Wisconsin Department of Justice continue to assist the Kiel Police Department in investigating the five bomb threats that have been emailed to the police department in the past week.

Officials say they are also investigating other threats received by staff members of the school district.
