The start of February was very chilly, especially to start last week when we had multiple days with cold weather advisories. The average temperature for the month heading into Tuesday is over five degrees below average at 21.4. It is tied for the 51st coldest start to February on record.
The cold start to February came to an end over the weekend and Monday was very warm with highs reaching the low 50s almost everywhere. It was the warmest day so far this month and the warmest since the end of January.
February only averages one day a month in the 50s or warmer which we have now satisfied for February, 2025. But the last few years have seen well above that average. In 2024 we had a whopping seven days in the 50s or warmer and in 2023 we had four. The last time we didn't get any 50s or warmer in February was chilly 2021.
Tuesday might not be as warm as Monday but still should be very mild with highs reaching the upper 40s and a few isolated 50s are possible. The rest of the work week stays mild as well in the low 40s Wednesday and Thursday and upper 40s again on Friday. The cooler air returns for the start of March this weekend in the 30s.
