Fire damages Milwaukee apartment building, residents displaced

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Fire Department responded to a fire at a two-story apartment building near 43rd and Morgan on Friday, Feb. 7. The fire appears to have started at around 11 a.m.

MFD officials tell CBS 58 that they were dispatched to the second floor of the building and found no occupants inside upon arrival.

A battalion chief says that multiple residents will be displaced, though the exact number has not been determined. No injuries have been reported.

Firefighters have contained the fire, but as of early Friday afternoon, crews remained on scene to check for hotspots.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
