MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – Karaoke on a Tuesday night -- it's just one event the group Safe and Sound is hosting during their first-ever "Safer Together" week, taking place from March 17-25. 

The organization has a goal of building community connections to create safer neighborhoods.

Tuesday night's event is called "mic check-- coping through karaoke."

Leaders wanted to give kids and adults a free space to express themselves through singing.

There's more happening this week, including a sip and paint and a public safety appreciation day.
