Flooding rainfall is possible tonight

A flood watch has been issued for most of the area tonight into Tuesday morning.  Scattered showers and storms have the potential to train over the same areas creating some very heavy rainfall.  Dewpoints remain in the middle to upper 60s, so there is plenty of moisture for these storms to work with.

In addition to the flood watch, there is a slight chance for a strong to severe storm tonight.  While widespread severe weather isn't expected, storms could produce damaging winds and small hail.  The biggest threat is locally heavy rainfall.

Many areas will pick up between 1" to 2" of rainfall with locally higher totals.  Isolated rain and storms are forecast for this evening, but the majority will develop after midnight.
