FOND DU LAC COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A man who is facing felony charges in both Dane and Fond du Lac counties made his second court appearance this week on Friday, Sept. 4. 

Benjamin Larson is charged with stalking and was also found to have multiple human skulls, and human remains in his basement, along with shrines to serial killers.

Larson appeared in court Friday for his preliminary hearing which he ended up waiving, but not after near an hour of back and forth between the state and the defense. 

Early Friday, the defense filed a motion to dismiss charges related to receiving stolen property in regard to the skulls and remains found in Larson's home.

This led to discussion in court over legal questions of ownership, especially as some of the skulls have so far been tested and found to be Native American. 

Ultimately, the judge denied the motion as human remains could be considered property and as the legal process continues, officials say the investigation isn't over. 

"But in my conversations with the investigators, they have shared there have been a number of tips that have come in that have been helpful as we move the investigation forward which we appreciate the public’s assistance and are continuing to ask for that," said Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney. 

Larson's next court hearing in Dane County is on Sept. 11 for his stalking charges. 

He'll be back in court in Fond du Lac County on Sept. 28 for an arraignment.
