Fond du Lac mother accused of neglecting son, resulting in his death, to stand trial

FOND DU LAC, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A child neglect case causing death in Fond du Lac will head to trial.

Tina Beauprey was set to be sentenced in court on Tuesday, Sept. 8 after being charged in the death of her 12-year-old son back in January.

Nearly a year later, the case is now headed to trial in November.

Court documents reveal that Beauprey's son -- Jeremiah -- had Duchenne muscular dystrophy, was in a wheelchair, and weighed just 56 pounds at the time of his death.

In a criminal complaint, officers say Jeremiah weighed 80 pounds when he was in foster care in May of 2024. When he returned to Beauprey's care, Jeremiah consistently lost weight.

On Dec. 5, Beauprey brought her son the hospital, stating he had been unconscious for two days.

In the criminal complaint, doctors say Jeremiah died because of starvation.

Investigators say they also found several bottles of unopened heart medication Beauprey was supposed to give Jeremiah daily.

Beauprey asked for her bond, which is set at half-a-million dollars, to be reduced.

She will be back in court later this week.
