Former MPS board member Aisha Carr accused of food stamp, public assistance fraud

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Former Milwaukee Public Schools board member Aisha Carr now faces two new felony charges. 

That includes one count of food stamp fraud and one count of public assistance fraud. 

According to a criminal complaint, Carr is accused of lying about her income when applying for food stamp benefits and receiving more than $2,800 in overpayments. 

She faces a maximum of seven years in prison if convicted. 

Back in June, Carr was also charged with theft and misconduct in office for allegedly not living in the district she represented while serving on the MPS board.
