Franklin woman convicted in eye drop murder case to be sentenced in April

WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The woman convicted of killing a friend with eye drops is still waiting to find out if she'll spend the rest of her life in prison.

It's been two months since Jessy Kurczewski was found guilty of poisoning Lynn Hernan in 2018.

The lengthy trial included a confession Kurczewski gave police, saying she gave Hernan a water bottle filled with six bottles of eye drops to help her commit suicide.

Prosecutors argued Kurczewski killed Hernan because Kurczewski stole hundreds of thousands of dollars from her.

A jury agreed, finding her guilty of first-degree intentional homicide.

She was supposed to be sentenced last month, but a letter she allegedly wrote asking a friend to fake documents, led to her attorneys withdrawing

Now, back in court Friday, we learned she won't be sentenced until April.
