NOW: Free closet at Father Gene’s Help Center in need of gently used coats and outerwear

WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Father Gene's is a free clothing closet on National Avenue in West Allis. As cold temperatures stick around, they're constantly in need of gently used coats, scarves, hats and gloves.

"We go through a bag and as soon as we get them open and they hit the floor, they're gone, because the need is so big right now," said Jason Wilson, the executive director of Father Gene's.

The free closet is open to anyone in need of new clothes, no questions asked. Wilson says dignity is a big part of what they do, from the clothes down to the "shopping center music" played overhead. Only items in good condition are put out on the floor for shoppers.

Donations are accepted during business hours from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday and select Saturdays.
