Turkey Ticker fundraiser launches to feed families in Milwaukee
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- With the start of the summer season comes all kinds of events for families and children, and that includes the start of Family Fun Day.
It happened at Northwestern Mutual's Community Park on Sunday, May 9.
It kicked off the first "Fun Day" of the season. It's a free event held on the Summerfest grounds, featuring magicians, face painting, balloon art, and a whole lot more.
Families can also check out exhibits from the Girl Scouts, Wisconsin Conservatory of Music, and the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Milwaukee.
Northwestern Mutual partnered with Milwaukee World Festival to put on the event, they say they're thrilled to give young families a free way to enjoy the summer.
"Our staff, we just love days like this, this is what this park was developed for. I'm here with our family almost every Family Fun Day really to enjoy the community aspect of what we do here at Henry Maier Festival Park. It's such a great, great time," said Sarah Pancheri, President and CEO with Milwaukee World Festival INC.
If you missed today's event, don't worry, there's still three more this summer. The dates are July 7, Aug. 14, and Sept. 22.
