Friends With Food celebrates grand reopening and open house 🥫

WAUKESHA, Wis. – Friends With Food, the second largest food pantry in Waukesha County, will be celebrating its grand reopening on Wednesday, July 26th from 6 - 8:00 p.m., following extensive repairs due to an SUV crashing through the building on Jan. 17.

Executive Director Rochelle Gamauf stated in a press release that the crash caused over $100,000 in damages, and while insurance covered most expenses, utility bills remained high during the six-month restoration period.

The open house, a free community event, will showcase the unveiling of a 55-foot mural painted by a local artist, along with activities like ice cream, games and a fire truck display.

Friends With Food operates as a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization and serves over 300 families each week, providing groceries and household supplies without any requirements for clients.

In June alone, the organization says it distributed more than 96,000 pounds of food.
