Community rallies in support of Sade Robinson's family following verdict
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Family, friends and community members rallied in support of Sade Robinson, after Maxwell Anderson was found guilty on all counts in her murder.
“We are still looking for a life sentence of course, but right now it’s... I wouldn’t necessarily say celebratory,” said Dee-Dee Davis with Sade’s Voice Foundation. “But it is a sigh of relief that this part of the process for justice has been served.”
It was an emotional day as multiple rallies and vigils took place across the Milwaukee area Friday, June 6.
“She was very lighthearted and humble and kind and she was just like any other person and that’s what makes this whole thing so hard and terrible,” said Maya Cano, Robinson’s friend.
While the verdict is a step in the right direction, those laying flowers and wearing Sade’s favorite color, pink say justice can never fully be served.
“There is no justice because of the horrific things that he did to her and she’s gone,” said Christine Goralski, who knew Robinson. “She’s gone and that’s never going to change.”
People gathered taking a moment to pray and remember the 19-year-old who was caring, ambitious and had big dreams.
“She was a real person with goals and a future that was taken from her and I want people remember that this was a real person,” said Cano. “This was a real life.”
