MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- La Revo Books, a Latina-owned bookstore based in Milwaukee, is sharing recommendations for readers this month, including a romance novel by a local author and a historical fiction classic.
The first recommendation is "A Proposal They Can’t Refuse" by Milwaukee-based author Natalie Caña. The romantic comedy follows a Puerto Rican chef and an Irish American whiskey distiller who are forced into a fake engagement by their grandparents. The book is the first in a three-part series.
For readers interested in historical fiction, the bookstore suggests "A Long Petal of the Sea" by Isabel Allende. The novel follows two young people fleeing the Spanish Civil War in search of a new home.
