Fryer fire at Brown Deer Wendy's does $35,000 in damage

BROWN DEER, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Firefighters responded to a Wendy's in Brown Deer on Deerwood Drive just off of Green Bay Road Saturday morning around 10:30 a.m. for a fire.

When firefighters arrived smoke was coming from the roof and doors of the Wendy's. Firefighters quickly attacked the kitchen fire and got it under control.

The fire started in the fryer activating the fire protection hood. Employees also used fire extinguishers to prevent the spread of the flames. The fire was stopped before it reached the ventilation system. 

Several pieces of kitchen equipment will need to be replaced and the damage is estimated at $35,000.

No one was injured.
