MILWAUKEE, Wis. (CBS 58) –The public and police departments from across the state will be making their way to Oak Creek Assembly of God Church to say goodbye to Officer Rittner.
This is the same church that hosted the funeral services for officer Michalski.
A private visitation will be held on Tuesday for all police and fire department members, as well as any military personnel.
The public visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9a.m. to 1 p.m. A service will follow.
The procession will then get underway from Oak Creek to Krause Funeral Home in Brookfield.
If you’ll be driving in the area on Tuesday or attending the funeral, local police departments want you to be aware of potential road closures during the procession.
The Oak Creek Police Department posted a message on Facebook asking for the public’s patience as they assist in the funeral procession. They say there could be delays around Rawson and S. 13th Street.
The Cudahy Police Department is also expecting traffic to be impacted from Pennsylvania to 794.
Around 3:30 p.m., when the procession is expected to be underway, they will be closing Pennsylvania Avenue between College and Layton.
Police say anyone who wishes to watch the procession along the route can do so staying behind the barricades, and following any instructions given by officers working the route.
