Germantown 12-year-old arrested in connection with school threat

GERMANTOWN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 12-year-old Kennedy Middle School student has been arrested in connection with a threatening email sent to the school, according to Germantown police.
The arrest followed a search conducted Friday, June 6 at a Germantown home. Authorities seized electronic devices, one of which contained a threatening message sent from a Google account.
The boy reportedly admitted to sending the message and is being referred on a charge of terrorist threats, officials said Wednesday, June 11.
The email, received by school staff Monday, June 2 prompted a police response and temporary "hold" at the school. The message said:
"On June 2nd 2025, we will show up to Kennedy Middle School with an AK-47 and kill all of the teachers. We will start with the Eastside of the school, then the west. -Anonymous"
The student told investigators the message stemmed from frustration following an interaction with a teacher and was not a threat he intended to act on. Law enforcement confirmed no firearms were present in his home.
Police say his family has been fully cooperative during the investigation.
