MEQUON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The McDonald's All-American game has been one of the most premiere collections of talent for high school basketball players. Tuesday, the 2023 game tips off and Wisconsin will be represented in the girls game.

WNBA MVPs like Candace Parker, Breanna Stewart and Aja Wilson and more have played in the McDonald's All American game.

Now it's KK Arnold's turn.

"It's definitely an honor and I say a blessing as well. All the WNBA stars, NBA Stars that have went through that McDonald's All-American game. Just surreal," said KK Arnold.

The UConn commit got one more workout in at Athlete's Performance before heading down to Houston Friday to play in a game she's always watched.

"Definitely cool. And I'm a part of history as well making the team," said KK Arnold.

Including this class, more than 1,600 athletes have been named McDonald's All-Americans since 1977. Only 14 of those players have been from Wisconsin.

KK is just the sixth player on the girls side, following in the footsteps of players like Arike Ogunbowale.

"When I first posted, she commented congratulations. Different but similar journeys just to be a part of Wisconsin greats, along with her," said Arnold.

With the end of her high school career coming up soon, KK is looking at this All-American game as simply the next step in her progression.

"Middle school was season 1, season 2, season 3. We'll say it like that. Season 3," said Arnold.

Before heading to UConn, She'll continue to prepare for the rest of season three, going to camps and continuing to improve on and off the court. As far as the game, the MVP trophy will be on her mind, but mainly wants to just put on a show.

"It's an all-star game so I think I'll just be going with the flow having fun just doing what I can do to help out the team," said Arnold.

The game tips off at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday on ESPN2.
