Florida investigation shows new communication with Madison school shooter
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- There are new developments in Florida connected to the Madison school shooting from this past December.
The 22-year-old Florida man who communicated with the Madison shooter is now behind bars.
Authorities in Palm Beach County say Damien Blade Allen threatened to commit seven mass shootings of his own.
The Florida investigation is uncovering new communications between him and the Madison shooter.
The 18-page affidavit also reveals more of the messages he traded with the 15-year-old Madison shooter in the months before she killed two people and injured six others at Abundant Life Christian School in December.
The two communicated on various social media platforms.
In late May of last year, they were talking about carrying out mass shootings. The Madison shooter is quoted as saying she "wanted to do a Black church." That's when Damien Blade Allen said he had seven places in mind.
The investigation into the social media channels also uncovered several videos, including one of Allen masquerading in a law enforcement uniform.
The investigation found Allen once told the shooter, "We go down together." She then said "correct," then they told each other, "I love you."
The Florida sheriff in charge of the investigation said he has no doubt investigators there stopped another mass shooting.
A search of Damien Blade Allen's home turned up 18 guns -including multiple rifles- and more than 12,000 rounds of ammunition.
Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw said Allen was ready to go and had all the equipment. "Unquestionably, this is one of the best arrests I've seen in a long time that has prevented people from dying because, I guarantee you, he was going to do that."
FBI agents in Milwaukee also helped with the investigation.
Just a few weeks ago they combed through 21 TikTok accounts associated with the Madison shooter. Messages from those accounts helped Florida investigators track down Allen.
