Girl Scouts and Versiti Blood Center give back to donors during COVID-19 pandemic

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The coronavirus pandemic is causing major disruption at blood banks. Most blood drives either canceled or postponed.

Thursday, March 19, there was a sweet incentive to donate: Girl Scout Cookies.

Anyone who donated at Versiti Blood Center of Wisconsin Thursday, received a package of Thanks-A-Lot Girl Scout Cookies.

Anyone 17 or older who is in good health and meets eligibility requirements is encouraged to donate blood.

The blood center is asking donors to call ahead and make an appointment. The number is 1-877-BE-A-HERO.
