MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- "Good Deeds Days" is back at the Harry and Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center!

The weeklong event kicked off Sunday, March 22. Volunteers will be making hundreds of sandwiches, snack packs, hygiene kits and hospital activity bags throughout the week.

This is the second year of "Good Deeds Days" here in Milwaukee but it's been celebrated since 2007 across the world, with the goal of bringing people together to help people in need.

"What we're really hoping is to put out those positive vibes into the world. We're leaning into our values and putting them out into action," said Sami Stein Avner, executive director at Tikkun Ha-Ir of Milwaukee. "Things that, you know, thinking about others, giving back to the community and making sure that anybody, it doesn't matter who, if you're here in Milwaukee and you need a little bit of help, we're here for you."

Several local organizations will be receiving these care packages, including Guest House, Hunger Task Force, the Humane Society and the Street Angels.
