Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving, is known as the busiest travel day of the year and the forecast looks good if you're traveling locally across Wisconsin and even a bit south into northern Illinois and Chicagoland. But if you are traveling farther south some rain, and even snow, are expected from Missouri into southern Illinois through most of Indiana and Ohio.
That same storm system moves east into the North East for Thanksgiving Day with rain and snow expected.
Wednesday will be the closest to average for temps in southeast Wisconsin with highs in the upper 30s to around 40, not too far away from the average high of 43. The chill kicks back in for Thanksgiving Day with highs in the lower half of the 30s then drops even further for Black Friday and the shopping weekend into the 20s.
In addition to the chill for the holiday, the wind will start to pick up too with a breeze gusting to 20 mph pushing wind chill values into the 20s most of Thanksgiving Day and into the teens for Black Friday and the weekend.
