Today's shaping up to be one of the nicest days of the week! Besides a few passing thin clouds this morning, mostly sunny skies are expected today with SW winds boosting temps into the mid to upper 70s.
The quiet weather won't last long as our next chance for showers and storms arrives ahead of a cold front on Friday. A line of storms will develop tonight across the Plains, tracking east towards the Badger state Friday morning.
The line is expected to weaken as it pushes east, but there is a chance this complex of storms holds together and moves across SE WI around midday. If that line falls apart, we will have another chance at storms later afternoon to early evening as the cold front arrives.
The afternoon/evening round of storms could be strong to severe storms. A level 2 of 5, Slight Risk, is in place along and south of I-94 on Friday with a level 1, Marginal Risk, covering the rest of the area.
Damaging winds and hail would be the main concern with storms, but an isolated spin up can't be ruled out.
Dry weather will return for the start of Memorial Day weekend, but it won't stay that way. Download the CBS 58 Ready Weather App to see the full 7 day forecast.
