CBS 58’s annual drive-thru food drive collects 661 turkeys, 54,000 pounds of food for those in need

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- CBS 58's annual Drive-Thru Food Drive -- in partnership with the Brewers Community Foundation and Hunger Task Force -- proved to be a huge success this year.

CBS 58 set up outside Helfaer Field all day Friday, Nov. 17 to collect items like low-sodium vegetables, low-sugar cereal, and lean canned tuna or chicken.

This year's event collected 661 turkeys, and 54,000 pounds of food for those in need.

Everyone who donated received a fun swag bag filled with items from our community partners -- while supplies lasted. And anyone who donated three or more frozen turkeys got a special Milwaukee Brewers bobblehead.

It's a fun way to help make Thanksgiving special for families in our area.
